Selecting
the Perfect CHI Flat Iron is Easy Once You Know
Which Straightener Works
With Your Hair Type

The CHI Flat Iron is an amazing hair styling
tool. Women all over rave about the fabulous results that you will be
able to produce once you own one. But there is a small problem. Farouk,
the makers of the CHI ceramic flat iron have quite a few models to
choose
from.
Now, choice is always good, but too much choice or
not knowing what to choose can be a problem. For example, CHI makes
models ranging from 0.5" to 2". How do you know what
size straightener you should get? There are 3 product lines as
well. There is the Original
series, the CHI
Turbo and the CHI
Nano. So which one is
perfect for you? Some CHI hair straighteners have a fixed temperature
and others
have a variable temperature. Which one is the better choice?
There are a couple of factors you need to know
about your own hair before you can decide which CHI flat iron is best
for you. They are very easy but if you don't know about them you might
end up picking the wrong model. Before you select the
perfect flat
iron, you need to know your hair length and what the condition of your
hair is.

Regardless of the
model or value pack you choose, here is a summary of
the guidelines that you can use to pick the proper model for
you.
1. Length of hair determines the thickness of the ceramic plates on
your CHI flat iron
- short
hair can use a straightener that is 0.7" or 1" wide
- long
hair should use a flat iron that is 1.25" or 2" wide (the reason is
that because thinner plates can lose their heat when styling long hair,
which means poor results on the first pass, which leads to overstyling
and eventual heat damage)
2. Hair Condition
- thin,
weak, fragile, damaged, bleached, etc hair is more likely to be damaged
by heat exposure. This means you should always test at the lowest
temperature setting possible. That means you need a hair straightener
that provides a variable heat setting
- normal,
coase, thick, ethnic, etc hair is more likely to need higher
temperatures to style well. This means that you can either use fixed
temperature or variable temperature flat irons
